Okay so here is a picture of me now....I know my belly is GINORMOUS!!! (yes I said ginormous)
A friend of mine put it well "It looks like your smuggling a beach ball" :)
And of course when I asked my loving sister what she thought about the pictures, her response was "Why would you want to remember yourself that big?" ha ha gotta love sisters...we tell it like it is.
So we have practically 2 weeks left until my due date. Which basically means that this baby could come any day now. Everyday I am just looking for the smallest sign that I could go into labor. Turns out thus said "sign" doesn't really exist! I have had a few contractions but nothing regular and they are just so random. I go to the midwife on Thursday so hopefully we will see if there is any progress.
In the meantime we have had our hands full the past two days. But for a good reason. Robbie's mom works with a sweet lady who rescues animals. She just so happened to rescue two dogs from a kennel. She said she went into the kennel and saw the two dogs and how they were being handled and treated in there and she just had to take them out. Supposedly they were being held in a 2x2 cage. They each have a broken leg that the kennel caused with the closing of the cage doors and they never fixed them so their legs have healed in the way they were broken. It was totally a story or a picture of these two sweet dogs off of one of those SPCA commercials where Sarah Mclaughln sings that sad song.
Anyways, if you know me you know that I have always wanted a hypoallergenic dog and really have wanted a yorkiepoo! One of the dogs this lady rescued just so happened to be a one year old yorkiepoo. The other dog is it's mother and she is 2 years old and a toy poodle.
So we get the call.
We are told they are already pee pad trained and go number 2 outside.
That they are loving.
We know they don't shed because of what kind of dogs they are.
We are told their situation, and about their legs.
We are told that they are FREE!!
Seriously? Free? I have always looked for a yorkiepoo and couldn't find any cheaper than like $500. So we discussed and it said we would take the yorkiepoo.
The nice lady and her husband really wanted us to take both because they didn't know how they would react to being separated since they lived in that kennel all their lives together, but we just didn't think that was a good idea with having a baby so soon and we figured one is all we can handle.
At church on Sunday I was talking to my friend Anna, who has always wanted a toy poodle. We knew we were going to pick them up right after we ate lunch after church. We were meeting the sweet couple halfway between Greenwood and Fort Mill. So knowing that we may have a potential keeper for the toy poodle we decided to call the couple and tell they we would take both of them and if we couldn't give her to Anna we were sure we could give her to someone.
So we get to our meeting spot and we pick the dogs up. One look at that toy poodle and the way she just loved on you and looked at you with the sweetest eyes I was hooked!! I still offered her to Anna but I really didn't want to anymore and told Robbie that if she cant take her we were going to keep her.
Well Anna said she couldn't take her so now we have two dogs and a baby that is due any day now. We named the Yorkipoo Lily and the toy poodle we name Emma. Basically the two names that I love for a little girl but Robbie didn't like them.
Our two new additions are doing well. They are so bony and Lily is still warming up. They are still scared anytime you put your hand above them, even to pick them up. They look like they think your going to hit them. And Emma has not had one accident. She does her business where she is suppose to. Lily, however, is suppose to be potty trained but she has had a few accidents and we are hoping it is just because she is just anxious or scared. I am hoping she will get better about this because it is pretty aggravating. Plus, how do you punish an abused dog?
They love to cuddle and they are just so loving. Even to strangers that come by. I had them groomed because they smelled so bad and their hair was all mangled. They look even bonier now! But hopefully we can fatten them up and get them back into shape.
Well that is what has been going on in the life of Robbie and Jenn! You should come by and see our pups! :)
