Robbie and I have had to really make major adjustments in our life financially since we took a new job and had a baby. This transition has led us to couponing! We found a site called Southernsavers.com a while back and this site tells you everything you need to know about extreme couponing.
Ever since we started back in Janruary we have yet to pay full price for anything we buy at the grocery store. I really started to get the hang of it and was spending no more than $40-$50 dollars a week in groceries.
But then there are the drug stores. You can save so much more on tolietries, clean supplies, drugs, and baby items at the drug stores. You can really walk away with a bunch of free stuff if you know how to do it right. I had been weary of couponing at drug stores because their policies are very different and you really have to learn the trick and trade in there.
This week I finally went to CVS and tried it out. I was so pleased with my purchase. I ended up only spending $15 for about $40 worth of things. Not only that but I actually messed up a little on my scenario of what I was going to get and how I was going to do my transactions and if I would have done it right I would have only spent $11 for $50 worth of items.
I can't wait to try it again next week!
Also I really hope to start a great stock pile of items that way I can start to give some stuff away! I look forward to being able to give people things they need with the effort I take in clipping coupons each week!
Also if anyone is interested the lady, Jenny, who created www.southernsavers.com is going to be doing a workshop in Greenwood, SC on July 7th at 6:30pm at the methodist church on main street! I will be going so let me know if you want to go with me! :)
