I am really conflicted as to how to write this blog. Every time I write a new post I get the same comment from so many people.
"I really love your honesty"
Honesty
I have always taken pride in being honest. Not in a "I don't lie about things" kind of honesty. But in the shear fact that I will tell you what I think and how I feel.
So when I post a blog, I am literally pouring out my soul.
So I write this post to tell you,,,
that my heart breaks.
Its breaks for America.
I have never been on an international mission. I would love to go to Africa at some point in my life to minister to those in need. or India. That is if the Lord calls me to that.
But I have never felt the Lord's tug at my heart in that direction.
I get the feeling that we are so distracted sometimes by all the pain and suffering in all of the other parts of the world that we neglect our own country.
America
Its hard not to neglect it. With churches on every corner we think we have got things under control. We feel as though God is already moving in America through our churches and ministers(But then again the enemy is destroying our view of our ministers lately).
Christ is being heard about, but is He really being shown?
Most of America seems to have a messed up view of Christianity that makes me believe that we are not telling His story well enough. We are not showing the Love of Christ as well as we could be. God is Love. Why not show it?
Now in NO WAY am I saying that other countries don't need the Love of Christ. I believe God calls each of us to spread His Word. Some He calls to other parts of the world, while others He calls to their own home. My God has yet to call me overseas. But He calls me everyday to work with Youth and to spread His Word in America.
This is why I have a such a huge heart for Fuge.
Fuge opened my eyes to intercity missions.
I don't think I would have realized that GREAT need that our cities in America need had it not been for Fuge.
They call them "Life Changing Camps" for a reason. Because they are just that.
Just as others have a heart for going overseas on a mission trip. I have just as big of a heart for Fuge. I would not have come to know God as well as I do now had it not been for Fuge.
My husband was impacted by Fuge as well. We both were so impacted that we ended up working on staff as camp leaders for two years and then going into ministry together with youth!
Our students are going to get to experience Fuge. I pray that they will be impacted even more than I was. Even more than my husband was.
May God be with our Middle schoolers this next week as they embark on a journey to go to Centrifuge in Tennessee. I pray that God will open their hearts and minds to what He wants to show them. May their lives be forever changed by His grace through this camp.
Our high schoolers go next month. They go to MFuge. Where they will be involved in intercity missions. Whether it be painting/construction and yard work. Or going to apartment complexes in the toughest parts of town to do bible studies with children, or to learn how to share Christ through games and recreation.
May the Love of Christ be shown through them and may their eyes be open to a heart for missions or the ministry.
May all of our eyes be open to the need of Christ in America. Not one country is better than another or needs more of Christ than any other. But God calls us using our individual needs and talents to spread His word unto ALL the earth.
He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. -Mark 16:15
He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. -Mark 16:15
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit -Matthew 28:19
Lets pray for our students and lets pray for our home away from our true Home with Christ....America.
